Bring The Mending Word to your community!
The Mending Word is now available for in-person workshops. While similar to the virtual group, there is the added benefit of interacting in a live setting. These sessions begin with the group exploring the prompt together, separating to write individually, and then rejoining for a guided discussion with room for sharing.

Hi, I’m Michal

The Mending Word was created shortly after I experienced the loss of my mother and father within two years. In the early days of my grieving, I yearned to find a place where I could write about my thoughts and share them freely with fellow grievers who understood. When I did not find a community, I decided to start one myself. I built this space for people who are looking to connect in a raw and honest way – ugly tears and dark humor welcome. If you’re ready to embrace your grief and hold space for others’, while forming beautiful connections with brave humans, I invite you to join The Mending Word Community.

  • My favorite part of the group was having a place to grieve with people that understand you without having to say a word.

Gili, Member of The Mending Word 10 Part Series

  • Michal makes a really comfortable and safe space to share grief. It is comforting and assuring to know you're not alone in your suffering.

Debbie K, Member of the Mending Word Live In Person Sessions

  • I didn't even know I was feeling those things until I started to write and then it just poured out. . .I feel relieved and so much more settled. This was such a safe space to share.

Member of a Live Mending Word Session

  • It gave me the space to help me learn about what grief is to myself by hearing others describe their own.

Member of the Mending Word 10 Part Series

  • The prompts allow you to tap into grief that needs to be released in a space like this. Connecting with people is also very healing.

Member of The Mending Word 10 Part Series

  • I just loved that it forced me to carve out time to make sure I was processing my thoughts. I also loved meeting new friends who actually COULD get it.

Bonnie, Member of The Mending Word 10 Part Series

If I had not fallen, I would not have picked myself up,
If I did not sit in darkness, I would not have seen the light.”
